It is not too late to experience end of summer and early fall adventures in Winter Park. From hiking, biking, scenic gondola rides, miniature golf, fishing, shopping and simply enjoying the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Now is the time to experience the best of warm weather mixed in with cool nights (and maybe a dusting of snow on the alpine peaks!).
Head to the base of Winter Park Resort and stroll through the village of quaint mountain architecture where inviting stores and restaurants await. Smell the flavors of wood fired pizzas, sweet homemade fudge and ice cream. Also be sure to browse the unique gift shops. Make way to the mountain base where miniature golf, hiking, biking trails, and the gondola invite you to head up the mountain.
Get your tickets and indulge in the scenic gondola ride at the base of the resort. Relax as you make way to the top of the mountain ascending to 10,700 feet in elevation. Take a look around with views of the Continental Divide, Rocky Mountain National Park and the Arapaho mountains. Go for a little stroll, or lace up those hiking boots and make way through the forest to the alpine tundra where the views will have you in awe.
Re-load the gondola and head back down to the base area to enjoy more adventure. The 18-hole putting course is a perfect activity for the whole family. Test your skills on this slopeside course that is built to resemble a real golf course. It will keep even the best skilled golfers of the group excited to play. Grab a bite or drink after and continue to soak up the beautiful backdrop
Be sure to purchase gondola, miniature golf and activity tickets at least 48 hours in advance to help guarantee availability. There are limited activity tickets available to keep people socially distanced. The resort has noted that facemasks and mindfulness of being socially distance have kept the base area safe of Covid-19 this summer. Now is the time to head on out to Winter Park for a fun fall weekend get-a-way.
