Winter made an early appearance to Winter Park this past week and no one is complaining about it. With the resort opening in one week, there is plenty of snow to celebrate!
Mountain web cams indicated almost 2 feet of snow from a recent storm system that made an appearance into the Colorado mountains over the weekend. Since then, more systems have added inches upon inches adding up to almost 2 feet of snow. Current snowpack for the region is around 150%. While last year that number was under 75%. Skiers and Riders can rejoice as Mother Nature delivered its finest early season moisture.
The mountain is busy getting ready for Opening Day, scheduled for Wednesday, November 14th. The Gemini Lift will start running at 9 a.m. and will run until 4 p.m. Keep an eye out for Miles, the Denver Broncos Mascot. Try to catch Miles at first chair where he will be on the slopes cheering on skiers and riders throughout the day. Be sure to keep your phone or camera ready to snap a pic!
With Opening Day one week away, temperatures will stay relatively colder with highs in the 30’s during the day and low teens at night. Cooler temperatures will help keep the snow conditions ideal for early season skiing and snowboarding.

We can’t wait to hit the slopes at Winter Park and continue to embrace the snow that just keeps on coming!
