Gravity Haus Winter Park recently introduced an exciting new restaurant called Terrain Taco. Expect tasty tacos, delicious drinks, and an amazing atmosphere! There's something for everyone on the menu. Grab something hearty like the green chile chicken taco (serrano dust, salsa verde, lime crema, avocado, cotija, cilantro) or enjoy vegan fare the mystical mushroom taco (chipotle cashew crema, chile dusted pepitas, avocado, pickled onions, cilantro). Pair your taco (or burrito) with a cocktail and a yummy shareable like guacamole!
Thanks to a wonderful campaign, many of Winter Park's signs have been translated into Indigenous languages. All around the resort, you'll find new trail markers, historical plaques, and art projects that were designed in partnership with the organization Natives Outdoors. For example, you might see a sign that reads Thunderbird Traverse. Below this you will find that the word Thunderbird has been translated into Arapaho as Boh’ooonii’eihii. This is a fantastic project that will help educate visitors on the history of the resort land!
Winter Park has proposed a variety of updates to the resort. One of these is a new restaurant on Vasquez Ridge to replace the existing Sundance Chili Hut. If approved, the new restaurant will feature a 3,000-square-foot deck!
They are also considering a 10-passenger gondola that would replace the existing Gemini Express chairlift. This isn't the only lift that would get an upgrade! The Endeavor, a three-person chairlift, and the Discover, a two-person chairlift, will likely be replaced with four-person lifts, and three conveyor lifts will be constructed adjacent to the top terminal of the proposed Gemini gondola.
The resort is also seeking to expand its snowmaking coverage in the Mary Jane and Winter Park zones. This, along with trail improvements in the Mary Jane, Parsenn Bowl, and Jelly Roll Glades areas, will expand skiing access significantly.
Another significant expansion would come through the construction of a new chair lift that would extend the ski terrain onto Cooper Creek Summit. This would enable the resort to create six new trails ranging from beginner to intermediate levels.
A timeline has not yet been established for these projects. You can read more about the proposed updates here: https://kdvr.com/news/local/winter-park-wants-to-expand-with-a-new-restaurant-trails-and-a-gondola/
