1. Taking a scenic drive to Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park
Take 34 to Grand Lake, the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park and drive around the area until you get to the road closure at Trailridge Road (closes in the winter time). Explore the western entrance by Grand Lake and keep your eyes out for elk, deer and moose.
2. Cross Country Ski or Snowshoe
Hit the nordic center or explore the forest and trails Rocky Mountain National Park. The views will not disappoint!
3. Soak in the natural hot springs
Hot Sulphur Springs is a town about 30 minutes west of Winter Park offering the historic hot springs at Hot Sulphur resort and spa. Take a soak in the natural and therapeutic hot springs to relax those tired ski muscles.
4. Snowmobile
Experience what people claim as the ‘snowmobiling capital of Colorado’ on the 100’s of miles of trails around Grand Lake.
5. Ice Fish
With three lakes in the vicinity, ice fishing is a locals favorite. Call the fishing shops in Granby and Grand Lake to get set up with all your gear and a Colorado day license to fish is less than $10.
