Winter returned to the Colorado mountains this past week delivering double digit snow totals to resorts across the state. Winter Park received nearly 2 feet. Yes, you read that correctly, almost 2 feet of snow (about 21 inches to be exact) fell on Winter Park Resort.
Skiers and riders found themselves full of smiles with joyous hoots and hollers. But, there was more to get excited about than the recent snow. Winter Park Resort has extended their ski season into May with a new closing date of May 1st. Now that is something to smile about.
With a few more weeks left in the ski season there is plenty of time to get some turns in at Winter Park Resort. Sunshine is in the forecast for the weekend ahead with more snow falling next week. Mother nature must have received the memo to do all of the prep work aligning the mountain with fresh snow heading into the final weeks.
There is a lineup of events to put on your calendar. On Saturday, April 20th get ready for a fun day on the slopes rocking out in the 80’s. The Goonies come from Denver and have ranked as one of the favorite regional bands. When you’re not dancing, go play a round of Pacman in the Red Chair Plaza and other memorable arcade games.
Don’t forget your bright clothes and fanny packs as there is an 80’s costume contest to find the most radical skier on the mountain. The first 100 people in line at The Gondola will receive a Winter Park Resort fanny pack. Check out the schedule below:
